OFFICES UNDER THE PROVOST

Subject to the general control of Council, the Provost is the Chief Executive of the College, He provides the required Academic, Administrative and Professional leadership for the College in executing the broad policies laid down by the Governing Council for the achievement of the objectives for which the College was established.

For administrative convenience, the Provost carries out his daily operations from the central office through the following Units.

(2) Information and Public Relations Unit

(3) Internal Audit Unit

(4) Legal Unit

(5) Identity Card Unit

(6) Servicom/ACTU

(7) Management Information System Unit

PROVOST MAIN OPEN OFFICE

The Provost’s main open office houses the Secretary’s, Clerical and Senior Administrative staff offices. The secretary office receives visitors to the office while the clerical office receives all correspondences to the Provost and dispatches the same as soon as they receive the attention of the Provost. The Provost’s office also serves as the secretariat of the Management meeting. the Provost is being assisted daily by a Deputy Registrar in the coordination of all administrative activities of the office.

INFORMATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS UNIT

The Unit is directly under the Provost office and its duties are as directed by the Governing Council, Provost, Registrar and other Principal Officers of the College. However, the activities of the Unit could be categorised into the following section: The News and Current Affairs: section deals with the coverage of all current issues and events in the College and outside the College that have a direct impact with the College.

The news materials are collated and published using the Special Releases and Newsletter as its medium to keep the members of staff abreast of the happenings in the College. The Unit also furnishes the members of the public with relevant information germane to their needs. The Unit also keeps College events in pictures and video through binding of albums and conversion of video clips into CDs for future reference.

The Unit covers virtually all programmes organized in the College either at School or Division level. These programmes are recorded in both video and still photographs and gazette in the College Special Releases, Newsletter or Magazine. The Unit is also responsible for production and publicity of all College announcements, advertisement press release and short notices on Radio, Television and Print media. Some of these adverts are produced in handbills, flyers and posters which are distributed by the Unit staff.

Public Relations

The Public Relations section deals solely with the planned effort of the College Management to establish and improve the degree of mutual understanding between the community and other Tertiary Institutions.

The primary objective is to assist the College to deserve, acquire and retain a good reputation among its publics. The Unit maintained a steady and harmonious relationship with the members of Media in the past years. This resulted in a positive projection of the College image through an increase in positive reports about the College in the national and local dailies. College events and programmes are adequately covered by the media house and prompt publicity are accorded to them.

The Ondo Community has remained an important stakeholder in the history of the College and in recent years the relationship has improved tremendously as the College actively participated in all community programmes. Some of the programmes are Ekimogun Day, Coronation of the Osemawe of Ondo, Installation of chieftaincy titles, and traditional festival such as Odun Oba etc.

INTERNAL AUDIT DIRECTORATE

Internal Audit Directorate, Adeyemi College of Education is a significant part of the Provost’s office. The Directorate measures evaluate and reports upon the effectiveness of the Internal Control System in the College. The Directorate also ensures that Government policies in relation to Public Service Rules and Financial Regulations are adhered to by the Management and entire staff of the College.
The Directorate therefore reviews:
(1) The adequacy and application of Internal Control System in the College.
(2) The extent to which the College Assets are safeguarded arising from:


i. Waste, extravagance and inefficient administration, the poor value of money
ii. The sustainability, reliability of financial and other Management data developed within the College.

LEGAL UNIT

In consequence of the decision of the Governing Council in 2003, the Legal Unit was established in 2006 and situated in the Provost’s office.

Duties of the Unit

(i) To handle general legal matters in the College including vetting and drafting of legal documents rules and regulations
(ii) To provide legal advice/assistance to all the Departments, Divisions and Units of the College
(iii) To advice the College administration on legal aspects of agreements with other institutions/organizations, contracts, contractual obligations, personnel and student matters.
(iv) To prepare a progress report on all cases as the need arises and present same to relevant organs of the College.
(v) To prepare the terms of reference for disciplinary cases
(vi) To stand-in, in court for the College and her other organs that are sued.
(vii) To serve as a link between the College and the College External Solicitors
(viii) To give legal advice to the College constituted Panels/Committees whenever the Legal Unit is involved.
(ix) To carry out other assignments that may be referred to the Unit from time to time.

IDENTITY CARD UNIT

Identity Card Unit is under the umbrella of the Provost’s office. The Unit is saddled with the responsibility of production of identity cards for staff and students (Degree, NCE, Pre-Degree, Part-Time NCE and Degree and Demonstration Secondary School students) of the College.

SERVICOM AND ANTI-CORRUPTION AND TRANSPARENCY UNIT

Duties of the Unit

(i) Investigating and analysing complaints by customers
(ii) Ensuring good service delivery to customers
(iii) Keeping records off all complaints, comments and suggestion of students and staff
(iv) Communicating with the complaints on the action to be taken on their complaints.

Anti-corruption and Transparency (ACTU) Unit

Cooperating with Management in the fight against corruption in all spheres of activities in the College.

MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (MIS) UNIT

The Management Information System (MIS) Unit was established in September 2006 to handle and control all Computers and Computer related equipment and processes in the college. e.g. Processing of admission, Transcript generation, Result software development, Hardware repairs, maintenance and networking.

The department is made up of four (4) subunits namely:

– Hardware repair and maintenance section
– Software development and deployment
– Networking and Web services
– General Administration
– Cybercafé

 

Dr. Kehinde Emmanuel ADENEGAN is the Acting Director of MIS, the position he assumed in August 2017 having been the Assistant Director from May 2016.

He had his elementary education in Owo @ St. Andrews pry school (1985- 1990) and had a brilliant performance as the then school Librarian prefect. He went to Owo high school (1991-1997) and had a remarkable success track as the senior prefect boy from where he went to Adeyemi College of Education Ondo (OAU, 1998-2003) for a degree in Mathematics Education where he made a First Class honours.

Served his Fatherland at the Benue State University, Markurdi as a Graduate Assistant in 2004-2005. He proceeded to the University of Ibadan for both his Masters (2007) and PhD (2015) in Mathematics (Financial Mathematics).

He has Diploma Certificates in Computer Science and French in 2009 and 2013 respectively from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo.

He has undergone Computer courses at Digital Bridge Institute with ADAPT certificate and Autograph Training in Oundle School Peterborough, UK in 2012.

At present, he lectures at the Department of Mathematics, Adeyemi College of Education (2007-Date).
