Understanding NERD Clearance/verification
“NERD Clearance” refers to the process by which your Academic Outputs (credentials such as
certificates, transcripts, results (notification or statement of results), etc, as well as item
submissions such as Project Reports, theses, dissertations, etc) are duly captured and permanently
logged in the National Database of NERD / NCVS after validated for authenticity by your
institution and thereafter considered unalterable, instantly verifiable, and nationally referenceable
with unique national verifiers (like the National Credential Number “NCN” and ancillary security
codes) for purposes like NYSC mobilization, Employee NCVS Clearance, Embassies and Foreign
Missions’ NCVS Clearance, etc. The enrolment of institutions, organisations, officials, and
individuals is done at https://ned.gov.ng/onboarding. Your institution uploads your academic
record, but you, as a student, upload your project report.
