God would soon help us overcome our challenges – AFUED VC

The Vice-chancellor of the Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Ondo, Prof. Bayode Isaiah Popoola, has expressed optimism, that God Almighty would surmount numerous challenges currently facing the institution.

Prof. Popoola made the statement while speaking at the November 2025 edition of the University – organised monthly prayer meeting, which held on Monday November 3, 2025 in the institution.

Describing challenges as part of life, the University Administrator, urged staff of the institution to remain committed, faithful and dedicated, assuring that with God’s backing, better days would soon come the way of the institution in no distant time.

Prof. Popoola commended staff of the University for attending the prayer meeting saying, “I am excited to be here, I also thank God for bringing us to the month of November. The Lord has been very good to us as an institution, we have our challenges, but we have a God, who never fails”.

“Today attendance is very great, let us continue to pray for this institution. The challenges are there, one day the Lord will come to our aid and we shall overcome our problems.

“I want to plead with us, let us be patient and continue to trust our Administration, we shall not let you down,” he stated.

Earlier in his sermon, a senior member of the AFUED Prayer Committee, Pastor Paul Adebayo, urged the congregation to have confidence in God.

Speaking on “Having an unshakeable confidence in God, the Cleric-cum-Senior Staff of AFUED, said the reasons why people should have confidence in God is because “He is the creator of all things and have power over them.”

Quoting the Bible in the book of Isaiah 41 v 10, Isaiah 54 v 16, Colosian 1 v 13, Psalm 65 v 2 and Luke 18 v1 among others to buttress his points, the preacher stressed the need for people to have close relationship with God, saying doing so, would give them victory over trials and tribulations.

He said: “children of God will always be the target of the enemy, because the enemy will always want to tell you that there is no God. “In the world today, people will always say if you cannot beat them, you join them: please don’t join the devil, because there is separation between you and the ungodly, come to the side of God, there will be a better tomorrow,” he remarked.

The spiritual gathering, which held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium in the University, featured songs ministration, Bible reading and exhortation, as well as offering of prayers for the institution, its Management, Staff and Students, Ondo community, the State as well as the Nigeria nation.

The highpoint of the event was the recognition and offering of prayers for members of the congregation born in the month of November and offering of special thanksgiving by one of the retired Academic staff of the University, Mr. Rojuwa Josiah Igbaro.
