Prof. Popoola eulogises Ondo female High Chief says "you are a woman of substance"
The Vice Chancellor of the Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, Professor Bayode Isaiah Popoola, has described High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Modupe Oluwole, the Jomulobun of Ondo Kingdom, as a "woman of substance".
The Vice Chancellor made this remark on Wednesday, March 26, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the residence of the High Chief in Ondo town. He was accompanied on the visit by the University's principal officers.
According to him, "It is indeed a great privilege to celebrate your 70th birthday anniversary in good health, I am delighted to honour a woman, who has made a positive impact in the lives of her people."
The University Administrator also expressed deep appreciation for what he described as unwavering support for the institution.
"Though this is my first time of meeting you, I have seen, and heard so much about your remarkable contributions to the growth, and development of our noble institution," he added.
Also speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Ceremonies and Honours Committee (AFUED), Professor (Mrs.) Itunu Awosika, extended warm wishes to the celebrant on behalf of the students, staff, and management of the University, praying for more fruitful, healthy, and impactful years ahead.
The visit was further enlivened by soul-stirring musical renditions performed by students of the Department of Music, Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Ondo, led by the Head of Music Department, Dr. Ayeyemi O.E.
Prayers were also offered by the Head of History Department, Dr. Zacchaeus Olupayimo, who cited Psalm 90:6 and 12 from the Holy bible and charged us to count our days.
Responding, the celebrant, High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Modupe Oluwole, the Jomulobun of Ondo Kingdom, expressed profound gratitude for the honour done to her; saying "I sincerely appreciate the entire stafl, and management for this recognition. I pray that God grants me more strength to continue to support the University.

Other important personalities present were Director of Ventures and Consultancy Services, Associate Professor. Nelson Osungbemiro; Director, Directorate of information and Public Relations AFUED, Mrs. Olatuyi O.A, as well as Deputy Registrar, Office of the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Funmilayo Oladotun.
