Newly admitted Adeyemi College of Technology students urged to be of good character.

The newly admitted students of the Adeyemi College of Technology (ACT),Ondo, Ondo State, South-west, Nigeria,have been advised to exhibit good character during their stay in the institution.



This advice was given by the Chairman, Governing Council ACT, Prof. Bayode Isaiah Popoola, in an address delivered at the third matriculation ceremony of ACT, organised for students admitted for 2025/2026 academic session, which held on Wednesday April 8, 2026 at the New Centre for Educational Technology building, Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Ondo .



Prof. Popoola, who is also the Vice-Chancellor, Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Ondo, described the occasion as history making and noted that the ceremony, which " marks the beginning of the students academic journey", also demonstrated their ( students) affirmation to embrace discipline and undertake the rigour required to undergo the courses for which they were admitted in the institution.



The University Administrator, commended Management of ACT for all the successes recorded since its establishment in areas which include successful accreditation of its key academic programme, as well as, expansion of its infrastructural facilities, which he said are tailored " towards producing graduates that would make positive contributions to national development.



The ACT Governing Council Chairman commended the matriculating students for choosing the institution, and advised them to" avoid all forms of misconduct and distractions that could have negative effect on their academic career in the institution".



In addition, Prof. Popoola also admonished the matriculating students to abide with the contents of the matriculation oath administered on them saying " as you take the matriculation oath, we will hold you responsible for all the promises made".



The renowned Counseling Psychologist reiterated the determination of the Governing Council under his leadership to continue to promote academic excellence and provide good policy directions that would make ACT a reputable institution and a growing hub for technological innovations.



Earlier in his remarks, the Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, represented by the Ondo State Coordinator of JAMB, Barr. Abdulkadir Abdulhakeem, felicitated with the matriculating students, and described the matriculation ceremony as a milestone.



Prof. Oloyede further stated that by choosing ACT, the students have made good choice and demonstrated hardwork, resilience and determination for success. He assured that the students would not regret their decision as the institution is a " unique place, where they would undergo theoretical and practical training that would make them globally competitive and enhance their suitability in industries after the completion of their studies".



Also in his address of welcome, the Acting Rector ACT, Dr. Adenegan Kehinde Emmanuel, advised the matriculating students, to make judicious use of the opportunity given to them by spending their time wisely in the institution.

He gave assurance of high academic standard in the college and stated that a conducive atmosphere and best opportunity would be provided for them to learn.



Adenegan described ACT as one of the fastest growing technology institution with good credibility saying " our college is approved by the National Board For Technical Education (NBTE), JAMB also recognises us and the certificate we issues is as good as the ones obtained from other approved polytechnics", he remarked.



The highpoint of the event, was the admission of matriculation oath on the newly admitted students by the Acting Registrar ACT, Barr. Robert Oluwamayokun Akinkuoye.



Important dignitaries who attended the event included principal officers of AFUED: Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bayode Isaiah Popoola; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ireti Folasade Alao; Registrar, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede and Librarian, Dr. Azino Akpokuriere.



Also present were, representative of JAMB Registrar, Prof.Ishaq Oloyede, Barr. Abdulkadir Abdulhakeem, members of Board ACT, Acting Principal Officers of ACT, staff and students of AFUED and ACT as well as parents and relatives of the matriculating students.
