AFUED Counseling Directorate organises workshop for varsity staff.

The Directorate of Counselling, Human Development and Career Services Centre (DCHDCSC), Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED)Ondo, has organised one-day training workshop for some staff of the institution.



The participants, who are members of Non- teaching staff, were drawn from six Directorates in the University. The Directorates are Bursary, Procurement, Audit, Information and Public Relations, as well as Physical Planning, Works and Services and the Health Centre.



In his remarks on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor AFUED, Prof. Bayode Isaiah Popoola, represented by the Dean Faculty of Arts in the University, Prof. T.A Fawehinmi, described the workshop as very important, stating that the exercise would help in sharpening the skills of the participants and make them more proficient in their workplaces.



The Unversity Administrator, commended staff of the DCHDCS for the initiative and reiterated the determination of the institution's Management to continue to support laudable activities that would add values to the University and promotes its progress and development.



Prof. Popoola enjoined participants to pay attention to the training, while expressing optimism that knowledge acquired would be put to effective use in enhancing good service delivery in the institution.



Earlier in his address of welcome, the Director, Directorate of Counselling, Human Development and Career Services Centre (AFUED), Dr. Martins Femi Dada, expressed appreciation to the Management of the University for approving the holding of the workshop, which he said aimed at improving skills of workers in the institution in order to enhance their competitiveness.



He further explained that the theme of the workshop: "Making our personalities count"

' was carefully chosen, in order to provide necessary information that would enhance efficiency and performance of staff of the University in their various areas of specialisations.



The AFUED CHDCSC Director, urged participants at the training workshop, to make judicious use of knowledge acquired, while expressing the resolve of the Directorate to continue to organise more trainings for staff of the University in order to keep them abreast of new information that would increase their knowledge and enhance their performance.



The one-day workshop, which held at Babatunde Ipaye Lecture Theatre on Wednesday July 8, 2026, featured delivery of papers by four resource persons from within the University. They were Engineer Stephen Olawoye, from the Directorate of Physical Planning, Works and Services, who represented the Director, Engineer, Kehinde Akintade; Dr. IO Abimbola, Directorate of Audit; Dr. Ibukunoluwa Edisson Johnson, Director of Medical Services and Mrs. Olatuyi Oluseto Abidemi, Directorate of Information and Public Relations.



Topics delivered at the workshop included " Integrating Facility Management, Workplace Safety and Professional Integrity for Enhanced Service Delivery; " Effective Financial Management and Compliance in Higher Institution: The Role of Bursary, Procurement and Internal Audit Departments in Promoting Accountability and Institutional Sustainnance; Ethics, Professionalism and Effective Response in University Health Centre and Strengthening Strategic Communication, Public Relations for Enhanced Institutional Visibility and Reputation Management.
